The Playful Warrior
Mateo is a globally recognized Stress Management Expert with over 20 years of experience in the field. He started his meditation and bodywork practice at the age of 8, and along the way he's enriched the meditation/yoga/bodywork foundation with extensive forays into the fields of Improvisation, Tantra, Theatrics, Acting, Creative Writing, Shamanism, Musical Performance and Competitive Jackassery.
Mateo struggled early in life with childhood obesity and depression, and through playful engagement and esoteric studies, he's found his way into an active adulthood rich with adventure, exercise, yoga, mindfulness, music, and deep, enjoyable connection with everything.
His worldview has been shaped by meditative inspiration, peak moments, and a handful of favorite authors, including Rumi, Joseph Campbell, Hafiz, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Carlos Castaneda, Tom Robbins, Mantak Chia and Del Close.
Though he's most grateful for his guidance from the Most High, Mateo gives MAD PROPS to the earth-bound, beautifully human teachers who have helped him get this far, including Lynn Daniel, Gil Sharpe, Kenn Stilson, Psalm Isadora, Francisco Bermudez, Manu Malasquez, Rick Solner, and Adam Noble Roberts...just to name a few.
These days you can find Mateo strumming his guitar, writing songs, flying people, rockin' regular yoga classes, riding his bike and dreaming up new workshops and events in the beautiful city of Austin, Texas.
